Why they might be annoying:

They were an extremely unstable band.
They were only around for 5 years.
Jeff Beck lasted only 18 months in the band.
Clapton called the music they made after he left as a 'sell out of their purist blues ethic.'
They only released one studio album comprised of entirely original material. All the others featured covers or live songs.
Jeff Beck left the band because of exhaustion brought on by drug use.
It sure would've been nice if they could've just picked one of their amazing guitarists and stayed with them for a few years.

Why they might not be annoying:

Six words: Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page.
They were a 'super group' without knowing it.
Jeff Beck's guitar work with the Yardbirds was seen as only second to Jimi Hendrix as the most influential guitar work of the 60's.
For a few months, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page were both lead guitarists in the band.
They would become the blue print for Led Zeppelin.
They ranked 37th on VH-1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.
