    He had an affair with the mother of drummer Pete Best, fathering a son three weeks before Best was fired from the band.
    He was temporarily fired from Apple for running up food and liquor bills of 600 pounds a month.
    He has often been blamed by Beatles fans for the slow release of the band's archival materials.

    He was married to his wife Suzy for 40 years until his death.
    He was involved with Paul McCartney in founding the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.
    George Harrison said Aspinall was one of only two people who deserved to be called a 'fifth Beatle.'
