Murderer (Alleged)
    (November 1931-June 13, 2011)
    Born in Ironton, Ohio
    Birth name was Betty Johnson
Married to Clarence Malone, James Flynn, Richard Sills, Thomas Harold Gentry and John Neumar
22 years after Gentry's death, was charged with hiring a hit man to kill him (2008)
    Released on $300,000 bail bond
Subject of the BBC TV documentary 'Black Widow Granny?' (2009)
    Died before being tried
Over the years, she used 28 aliases on passports, drivers licenses and credit cards.
Three of her first four husbands were shot to death: Malone outside his auto shop; Sills an alleged suicide during an argument with her in their bedroom; and Gentry in their home while she was out of town.
The death of her final husband was initially ruled to be from natural causes, but later investigators noted that his symptoms resembled arsenic poisoning.
Police also reinvestigated the 1985 death of her oldest son, Gary Flynn, which had been ruled a suicide.
Relatives of her later husbands said that she was often verbally abusive, especially after a few drinks.
Her stepdaughter Kathy Neumar said, 'She's gotten away with a lot more than people realize, and she's no sweet old lady to me.'
Her death left a whole lot of unanswered questions.
Authorities did not reinvestigate the death of husband #2, Richard Sills.
BBC filmmaker Norman Hull claimed, 'The more I looked into the story, the more it seemed to me to be a matter of assumption, presumption and speculation.'
The cremated ashes of John Neumar were analyzed for arsenic and the test came back negative.
Her daughters Peggy and Kelly called her caring and loving, with Peggy saying, 'I think that she was dealt a bad hand.'
