Drew his first concept of television for his high-school science teacher (1922)

Why he might be annoying:

Until he was eleven, his house did not have electricity.
As a youth he daydreamed of catching light in a jar.
He thought his television would never be a money making invention.
He suffered from depression.

Why he might not be annoying:

As a youth he was intrigued by electricity and inventions.
While in college, his father died and following his deathbed wish, to support the family (1923).
At twenty-one he created electronic video transmission (September 7, 1927).
He thought thought TV programs were 'not what he envisioned' until he saw Walter Cronkite describe Apollo 11's Moon landing. He turned to his wife and said, 'This has made it all worthwhile.' (July 20, 1969).
He held over 300 patents.
His statue stands in Statuary Hall at the U.S. Capitol.
He is honored on a U.S. postage stamp (September 1983).
He was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame (1984).
