    ( -August 29, 2004)

    Created by Spyros Gogos

Why Phevos and Athena might be annoying:

Many regard them as 'Two Penises Wearing Sweaters.'
I'm sure even you have a snappy description for the twosome too.
Even the drawn-on breasts of Athena would make some nervous.
Many Greek historical societies complained that they 'savagely insult Classical Greek culture.'
The Beijing 2008 site described them as having 'whacking feet, longish necks and puny heads' and inspired by 'garbled mythology.'

Why Phevos and Athena might not be annoying:

They were actually based off the 'daidala,' which are artifacts of Ancient Greek religion.
According to the creator, they represent the link between Greek history and the modern Olympic Games.
The Athens 2004 website says they represent participation, brotherhood, equality, cooperation, fair play and the everlasting Greek value of human scale.
