    Although people think she is from Brazil, she is in fact from Chicago.
    Her rendition of The Look of Love climbed to #4 on the pop charts in 1968.
    She and Herb Alpert met while Brasil '66 and The Tijuana Brass were on a concert tour together.
    After her career died down she started to write fiction. She released an album in 1998, long after her career was over, and was successful. In 1985, she was awarded a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Performance for 'Es Facil Amar.'
