    A year after Fox studios merged with 20th Century, he served six months in a Pennsylvania prison for bribing a judge during the liquidation of his holdings in bankruptcy claims (1936).

    He was a multi-millionaire in the 1920's and bankrupt in the late 1930's.
    He was harassed by Thomas Edison's thugs, including threats to dynamite the Fox offices, if he didn't purchase and use Edison's patented equipment.
    He defeated the Edison Trust Company in court, destroying Thomas Edison's monopoly on movie equipment.
    He was the first producer to nurture his actors and turn them into celebrities.
