Wrestler

The Resume

    (April 11, 1943-August 1, 2019)
Wrestled for the WWE, WCW, NWA, AWA, AJPW, Stampede Wrestling and the St. Louis territory
Former NWA Heavyweight Champion and AWA Tag Team Champion
Known as 'Handsome Harley' and 'King' Harley Race

Why he might be annoying:

    He had a gravely voice.
His WWF career was mediocre, as although he'd have matches with the top guys on the card, he wasn't treated as the main event caliber star that other promotions did.
After getting seriously injured in a match with Hulk Hogan, Bobby Heenan did a promo with the rest of his wrestlers about Race and they made it sound like the man was dead, ending the promo with a ten-bell salute.
He eventually came back to feud with Haku, who had taken Race's place as the 'king' of the WWF and Haku won the match and Race disappeared from the WWF for good.
He was involved in a backstage brawl with Hacksaw Jim Duggan at the 1987 Slammy's and it's one of the phoniest wrestling scenes ever done as none of their moves or hits looked right.
While managing Vader in WCW, he was involved in some of the worst angles in wrestling history.
He lost a lot of respect from many in the industry when he appeared on a FOX special that exposed many of wrestling's secrets.
He played 'The Booker' and he appeared in silhouette to try to hide his identity but it was obvious to fans who he was.

Why he might not be annoying:

He overcame polio as a child.
He won the NWA Heavyweight Title 8 times.
He owns and operates a wrestling school, The Harley Race Wrestling Academy and founded his own promotion, The World Wrestling League, in Missouri.
Mick Foley said the greatest compliment he ever received was when Race told him that he was the new Harley Race.
He was named Wrestler of the Year in PWI in 1979 and 1983.
His matches with Dory Funk Jr., Dusty Rhodes and Ric Flair won Match of the Year in PWI in 1973, 1979 and 1983, respectively.
    He's ranked #25 on Total Wrestling Magazine's 100 Greatest Heels of All-Time.
He's a member of the WCW Hall of Fame, The Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame and the Wrestling-Observer Hall of Fame.
