    Head coach of the Philadelphia Flyers (1979-1982), Los Angeles Kings (1984-1987), Vancouver Canucks (1991-1994, 1996), Toronto Maple Leafs (1998-2006) and the Edmonton Oilers (2009-10)
    Jack Adams Award Winner (1980, 1992)
    He smoked cigars.
    He had a really deep voice.
    He favored signing veterans past their prime instead of developing younger players.
    He alienated both Canuck and Maple Leaf fans by trading away many prospects.
    He was often criticized for being unable to win a Stanley Cup championship.
    He made poor trades as a general manager.
