Drummer for the Smashing Pumpkins (1988-96,1998-2000,2006-09)
Was also a member of Zwan (2001-03) and Skysaw (2009-12)
Recorded the album 'Life Begins Again' (credited to the Jimmy Chamberlin Complex; 2005)

Why he might be annoying:

In his pre-Pumpkins days he played in a wedding band and a polka band.
During sessions for the Pumpkins' 'Siamese Dream' album, he would disappear for several days on drug binges.
He said about his drug addiction, 'It's pretty textbook.... Guy makes it in rock band, gets very full of himself, starts thinking he's indestructible, and all of a sudden he destroys himself.'
He was kicked out of the band after he and touring keyboardist Jonathan Melvoin overdosed together on heroin and alcohol in a hotel room and Melvoin died (July 12, 1996).
The band had earlier offered to postpone tour dates so he could go to rehab, but he insisted that he did not need it and had cut back his drug use.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was heavily influenced by jazz drummers such as Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich, Elvin Jones and Tony Williams.
Before joining Smashing Pumpkins, he made a living as a custom home buider; he calls carpentry 'my second passion.'
Billy Corgan said, 'He's up there with Bonham, that level of drummer.... I think, pound for pound, he's the best drummer in the world.'
He rejoined the Smashing Pumpkins after successfully completing rehab.
His son Lucas was diagnosed with the debilitating auto-immune disorder juvenile myositis.
