Why he might be annoying:

    He was 'nobility.'
He was thirty-five years old before he was ordained.
In his youth he moved in with a relative in hopes of becoming his heir.
He wrote many poems in Latin and Italian but burned almost all of them and most of his personal writings shortly before his death.
After his death, it was discovered he suffered from an enlarged heart, which most people would consider a curse but his followers consider proof of his holiness.
When presented with a copy of his family tree, he tore it up and appeared to be unconcerned when his father's house burned down.

Why he might not be annoying:

He had an extraordinary personality and was able to go almost anywhere and strike up conversations with almost anyone and used this to spread Christ's Gospel.
His order, AKA the Oratorians is remarkable in that individual members are expected to be self-supporting and it is run by almost purely democratic votes.
Palestrina was an early disciple and composed music for his services.
He talked the pope into lifting the excommunication of King Henry IV of France, possibly saving France from Calvinism.
When working as a personal tutor for rich merchant he was paid in flour.
He was very sick his last few years.
He worked to help prostitutes and manged not to be involved in scandal.
The Oratorians are dedicated to charity and The Confraternity of Most Holy Trinity of Pilgrims and Convalescents was founded to help poor pilgrims in Rome and to help those recently discharged from hospitals but who are still too sick to care for themselves.
He was reportedly; very well-mannered, cultured, and educated.
