    He said, 'I didn’t have one whiff of God until I took psychedelics.'
    He was fired from Harvard for giving psilocybin to an undergraduate.
    He is a vegetarian.
    He came out of the closet in his 60s: 'All my life has been telling the truth. My homosexuality is the one thing I have not been truthful about.'
    When he was 78, he discovered that he had fathered a son over 50 years earlier when he was a student at Stanford.
    His name translates as 'servant of God.'
