Why he might be annoying:

His far left ideals would alienate voters in many areas outside of his home district of Seattle.
In 1992, he called for President Bush's impeachment for his 'war crimes' of the first Gulf War.
In 1996, 2000, and 2002, he visited Iraq (travelling on campaign contributions) and addressed the Iraqi Parliament all three times.
After Saddam Hussein was captured in 2003, he accused the second President Bush and his administration of waiting until it 'needed a boost in the polls' to capture Saddam.
He has regularly suggested that the Bush administration knew exactly what would happen on September 11, 2001 and let the attacks occur so they would have a reason to 'invade any country they wish.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He has very strong beliefs.
He is not afraid to speak his mind.
He is left handed.
He is a season ticket holder for the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks.
He has been married to the same woman for over 30 years.
As a retired physician, he dedicates much of his legislative work to bills that would (ideally) help the health care of the American people.
