    Born in Corfu, Greece
    Died in Genoa, Italy
    Set himself on fire to protest the regime of Greek dictator Georgios Papadopoulos

Why he might be annoying:

    His engineering studies in Italy put a financial burden on his family.
    He joined Panhellenic Liberation Movement (PAK), a student protest organization, to campaign against the newly-elected Greek regime's crack down on civil liberties, implementation of torture on opponents and creation of special military courts.
    His anti-junta membership caused his family to be threatened and rescinding his military exemption.

Why he might not be annoying:

    After giving an anonymous interview to an Italian magazine revealing that the student protest movement had been infiltrated by regime members, his identity was soon discovered.
    He left letters to his father and a friend begging forgiveness.
    In the early morning hours of September 19th, he drove to the Piazza Meteotti, doused himself in gasoline and set himself alight.
    His final words included, 'I cannot but think and act as a free individual.'
    Greece's governement delayed the return of his remains for 4 months, fearing violent outbreaks.
