    (circa 1398-1468)
Birth name is Henne Gransfleisch zur Laden
Invented the movable-type printing press (1455)
    Printed the 'Gutenberg Bible' (1455)
Sparked the revolution of information that has created books, newspapers, television, radio, the Internet
Little is known about his life.
He made some poor business choices, causing him to die penniless.
You can blame his printing press invention for the tabloids and all your junk mail.
He was virtually ignored in his time.
When his printed Bible first appeared, all the money from it went to his business partner.
Before his printing press, everything had to be written slowly by hand, making ideas and information almost impossible to spread.
Without his invention, we could possibly still be living in the Dark Ages.
He was ranked #1 on A&E's Biographies of the Millennium (1999).
