Why he might be annoying:

He referred to himself in third person frequently during speeches.
He often blamed the West and Israel for all of Egypt's problems.
He turned Egypt into a one-party socialist police state with Islam as its official religion.
Under his leadership, Egypt lost every war it fought.
He claimed Egypt was neutral in the Cold War as it was being propped up by Soviet money.
Because the U.S. decided against funding his plan for a Nile River dam, he decided to nationalize the Suez Canal, sparking the Suez War (1957).
His wet dream was to see the destruction of Israel.
He lead Egypt into the disastrous Six-Day War (1967).
Nasserists tend to promote fierce socialist militarism in order to confront the West.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a gifted orator.
He was very concerned about the quandary of the poor.
He helped overthrow both the British imperialists and the Egyptian monarchy.
He stepped down after the Six-Day War but returned to the presidency after popular demand.
After the Suez War and until his death, he was seen as the leader of the Arab world.
He died of a heart attack at age 52.
