Why he might be annoying:

While with The Police, he released solo efforts in 1978 and 1980 under the alias 'Klark Kent.'
His professional relationship with Sting deteriorated as Sting's solo career took off.
It was reported drug use contributed to tensions between band members (Source: Wikipedia).
During a feud, he told an interviewer he would beat up Sting backstage.
In another feud, he etched his drums to spell out 'Fuck off you cunt' (See photo).

Why he might not be annoying:

He is the son of a CIA agent.
He moved to England when he was a child.
Years after the 1986 breakup of the band, he attended Sting and Trudie Styler's wedding (1992).
At the reception he joined Sting and Andy Summers to perform an impromptu Police reunion. They did 'Roxanne' and 'Message in a Bottle.'
The Police reunited when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (March 2003).
