She wears huge white-rimmed eyeglasses.
Her birth name is incredibly long.
The Italian titles of her films are wordy and shortened for international release.
Her most successful films starred Giancarlo Giannini.
Both 'Swept Away' and 'The Seduction of Mimi' were remade into corny American versions.
All of her movies reflect her Communist and feminist politics.
In 1976, her American film deal was cancelled due to the poor box office performance of her first United States project 'The End of the World in Our Usual Bed in a Nightful of Rain.'

Why she might not be annoying:

She began her directing career as Federico Fellini's assistant director on '8½.'
A full decade passed before her work received acclaim (sexism?).
She was the first woman nominated for a 'Best Director' Academy Award for 'Seven Beauties' (1976).
Her movies garnered praise for championing the underdog.
Henry Miller called Lina 'a better director than any man.'
