First baseman/outfielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1990-96), Toronto Blue Jays (1997), Minnesota Twins (1998), Boston Red Sox (1998), Chicago Cubs (1998), Montreal Expos (1999), Orix Blue Wave (2000) and the Houston Astros (2001-03)

He was traded to the Blue Jays in a salary dump move by the Pirates.
He became a journeyman player after leaving the Pirates.
He played on five teams in a three year span.
His production tailed off considerably following his departure from the Blue Jays.
He struggled with his fielding skills early in his career.

He signed with the Pirates as an undrafted free agent.
He was a versatile player, as he played both the infield and outfield positions seamlessly.
He finished second to Jeff Bagwell in National League Rookie of the Year voting (1991).
His biggest strength during his tenure with the Pirates was his ability to perform well under pressure.
