    He was banned from Vegas casinos by the Gaming Commission due to his ties with organized crime (1988).
    After his death a federal prosecutor commented, 'It's been said you should never speak ill of the dead. There are exceptions to the rule. Frank Rosenthal is one of those exceptions. He was an awful human being.'
    Sports Illustrated called him 'the greatest living expert on sports gambling.'
    He reportedly doubled the Stardust's income by introducing female blackjack dealers.
    He survived a murder attempt in which explosives were wired to the ignition of his car (October 3, 1982).
    'Casino' author Nick Pileggi said, 'He was one of the originals. When Lefty went, the new Las Vegas emerged - the corporate Las Vegas.'
