Why she might be annoying:

    She underwent therapy for self-esteem issues.
    A New Yorker review noted that ‘Eats. Shoots & Leaves’ contained several dozen punctuation errors, including one in the dedication.
    She has been accused of encouraging ‘grammar bullies.’
    She said, ‘There is a common misconception that I was only ever interested in punctuation. I try not to be hurt by this.’

    She brought a sardonic female viewpoint to her sports writing.
    She has a self-deprecating sense of humor.
    ‘Eats, Shoots & Leaves’ was named Book of the Year at the British Book Awards (2004).
    Asked on TV if there would be a film of ‘Eats, Shoots & Leaves,’ she replied deadpan, ‘Julia Roberts as an apostrophe and Arnold Schwarzenegger as an exclamation mark.’
