    (January 20, 1959- )
Lived in East Meadow, Long Island, New York
Murdered 18 women, mostly prostitutes (1989-93)
    Nicknamed 'Joel the Ripper'
He spent most of the money he earned at odd jobs on prostitutes.
He killed some of his victims at the home he shared with his sister and mother.
After police found a dead woman in the back of his truck, he asked them, 'Do you think I need a lawyer?'
He got into a fistfight with fellow mass murderer Colin Ferguson over use of a payphone and who was the better killer.
After he was put in solitary confinement for his own safety, he sued for $77 million. (The suit was dismissed.)
He was constantly bullied in school.
His adoptive father once raged, 'Why can't you do anything to please me?'
He is not eligible for parole until 2197.
He inspired a 'Seinfeld' episode in which Elaine dates a man coincidentally named Joel Rifkin and tries to convince him to change his name. (One ironic suggestion: O.J.)
