Hockey Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

    His nickname is 'Tugger.'
He played on eight different NHL teams.
He sported the generic paint splash design on his goalie mask, which he kept for the majority of his NHL career.
He was involved in a serious boating accident, which nearly cost him the start of the Senators training camp (1998).
He spent a significant portion of his career on either poor or medicore teams.
He alternated between the starting and backup roles.
Despite being an established NHL veteran, he spent the entire 1995-96 season in the minor leagues.
He surrendered Keith Primeau's game-winning goal in the fifth overtime during the 2000 Eastern Semi-finals, which in turn shifted the momentum of the series in favor of the Flyers (May 4/5, 2000).

Why he might not be annoying:

He was considered a bright spot on a lean Nordiques roster during the late 1980's and early 1990's.
He was a member of both the inaugural Mighty Ducks and Blue Jackets rosters.
He was the last player to wear #1 for the Canadiens, prior to the number being retired in honor of Jacques Plante.
He successfully rejuvenated his career when he signed with the Senators.
He set career highs in both wins and goals-against average, earning an All Star Game berth as an emergency replacement (1998-99).
He set an NHL record for most victories recorded by an expansion team goaltender (22 in 2000-01).
He was considered the backbone of the Blue Jackets during the franchise's first couple seasons.
His popularity in Columbus led him to be a write-in candidate in the city's mayoral election (2000).
