Why Sam & Cat might be annoying:

Its episode titles follow the hashtag format.
There is no way around the initial fears of spinoff ruin.
A reviewer claimed it shared DNA with Laverne & Shirley (whose leads actually guested as producers of a fictional series that sounds like the series title).
Super Rockin’ Fun Time Babysitting Service? (It even has its own real website. Complete with zero-star rating for ‘criminal record’ Sam and one-star rating for Cat.)
At the 2013 J-14 Teen Icon Awards, series and leads got nominated, but came away empty (it’s a start).
Regardless of anything else, McCurdy was guaranteed her own starring series.
Unusual for an adolescent girl (when she was), Grande admitted to never having taken on any babysitting roles.

Why Sam & Cat might not be annoying:

It is a spinoff-crossover hybrid, borne out of two different series (McCurdy was in iCarly and Grande was in <29223>Victorious<29223>, both in supporting roles).
It’s a rarity to see anyone from their parent series here — though it does happen.
Originally picked up for 20 episodes its first season, the order was doubled within a month.
Creator Dan Schneider wrote or co-wrote all of the first-season episodes.
Both leads told Schneider in no uncertain terms their real-life vocal talents were not to be showcased in any manner.
Cousins Sophia Grace & Rosie (of Ellen Show fame) guested on two episodes as bratty con artists.
