The military vehicle that he designed was rejected because it was too fast.

The main focus of his cars was safety.
One of his many safety innovations was headlights that would move so you could see the corner, and not crash into the curb.
He worked as a police officer.
He died from cancer.
His old Tucker Automotive factory in Chicago is now the factory where Tootsie Rolls are made.
Tuckers are a major attraction at automotive museums, and have sold for up to $700,000.
