Why he might be annoying:

He was a snob.
He sneered at his Irish origins, saying: 'Being born in a barn does not make someone a horse.'
He married a woman he didn't love.
After she died, he became a notorious womanizer.
He is considered one of Britain's worst prime ministers, and was forced to resign in 1830.
He didn't have much imagination.
He was known for carrying boiled eggs around in his pockets.

He was brave.
He was kind to children.
He played the violin.
His wife was simple-minded, and racked up a lot of debts.
He advanced through the military ranks very quickly.
As a military commander, he rarely lost a battle.
He was modest about his own abilities, and never romanticized warfare.
