He had numerous songs which didn't get as much attention as his duets with Crystal Gayle did.
Some of his best known songs are 'Wind Beneath My Wings' and 'Love Hurts' which both were made famous by Bette Midler and Nazareth respectively.
He played himself in an episode of 'Another World' in 1987.
Why he might not be annoying
He won the Academy of Country Music's Single Of The Year award for his version of 'Wind Beneath My Wings' (1984).
He was voted Billboard's New Male Artist of the Year (1982).
His duet with Crystal Gayle 'Another World' was used as the opening sequence on the TV Show with the same name.
