(July 26, 1949- )
Born in Klamath Falls, Oregon
Republican from Nevada's 29th district in the Nevada Assembly (1999-2002)
Republican opponent of Senate Majority leader Harry Reid in Nevada's 2010 Senatorial election
Why she might be annoying
She often takes the position that anything she disagrees with is 'un-Constitutional.'
She told a group of Hispanic high school students that some of them looked Asian.
Why? She was trying to say that her political ads about illegal immigration weren't directed specifically at people who look Latino.
She said the American cities of Dearborn, Michigan and Frankford, Texas were being taken over by Sharia (Islamic) law.
She claimed 'second amendment solutions' might be necessary if Tea Party candidates didn't do well in the 2010 mid-term election.
She frequently defended herself against allegations she was a Scientologist.
Why she might not be annoying
The Libertarian leaning Las Vegas-Review Journal endorsed her over Harry Reid.
She worked as a substitute teacher for 25 years.
She is an anti-tax advocate.
The Scientology accusations came as a result of her opposition to psychotropic drugs being used in schools.
Unlike Republicans whose 'border war' focuses exclusively on Mexico, she contended the US must defend its border with Canada as well.
She will never be accused of censoring herself in an effort to be politically correct.
