Why he might be annoying:

    His tenure with the Tiger-Cats was plagued with mediocrity.
    He went 1-3 in the Grey Cup championship game during the 1980's.
    His playing career ended prematurely due to a knee injury.
    He turned down an offer to play for the Philadelphia Eagles, upon being drafted by the team.
    He was hired by a team in the Professional Spring Football League, but never had the chance to coach a game, as a result of the league folding before a down was even played.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He played football and basketball and also was a member of the track and field team at the University of Kentucky
    He is only one of three athletes to play under both Adolph Rupp and Bear Bryant at the same time while attending Kentucky.
    He was a member of the Kentucky basketball team that won the NCAA National Championship (1949).
    He earned the Ti-Cats head coaching job after recording a 2–1–1 record in the final four games of the 1983 season.
    He guided the Tiger-Cats to a surprise upset over the Edmonton Eskimos in the 1986 Grey Cup.
