    They were the first mass market gaming machine to have a built-in keyboard.
    The keyboard allowed gamers to enter names/initials for keeping high scores.
    They appealed to parents by producing educational programs.
    The joystick were ergomatic, stylish and practical.
    Imagic and Parker Brothers signed licensing agreements to produce games for them.
    An add-on component was sold that allowed the system to speak. One cartridge would phonetically sound out words typed in.
