    American novelist specializing in action thrillers
    Author of over thirty books including the; 'Pearl,' 'Sunset Warrior' and 'Ninja' series of books
    BA in Sociology from Columbia University

Why he might be annoying:

    He practices reiki, a form of magic which supposedly gives its practitioners the ability to heal using their hands.
    His novel 'The Testament,' a Dan Brown ripoff, was beyond belief bad.
    He doesn't update his website for years at a time.
    None of his work has ever been filmed.
    He reportedly prefers contemporary culture over more classical tastes in the arts.

Why he might not be annoying:

    Eric Van Lustbader is just really cool sounding, and believe it or not, is his real name.
    He taught high school and elementary school and was a very well respected and established rock and roll journalist before starting his career as a novelist.
    He does action scenes very well.
    Longtime friends with the late Robert Ludlum, Ludlum's estate gave him permission to continue the 'Bourne' books, which he has done very well.
    He dislikes reality TV.
    His book sales are in the millions and his novels have been translated into over 25 languages including; Serbo-Croat, Thai, and Hebrew.
