Committed suicide 22 days after relinquishing her crown at age 21

She was not close with her family and felt they didn't fully understand or appreciate her.
During her reign, pageant organizers and sponsors complained that, at times, she would 'disappear without a trace.'
She told the Times of Swaziland that she regretted ever being Miss Swaziland and the title was nothing but a liability to her from which she never benefitted.
She killed herself by ingesting weevil tablets, a poisonous pesticide.

After she won the title, she was devastated to learn she would have to pay for all expenses, including travel to the Miss World competition, as well as clothes and cosmetics.
She believed she was not getting proper support from pageant organizers and hounded by the media and paparazzi.
A sign of trouble emerged when she stated she thanked God the time had come to transfer her crown, which brought her so much stress she thought 'I was really going crazy.'
A former Miss Swaziland described her as 'beautiful and yet down to earth,' and Miss Swaziland 2009 Nompilo Mncina spoke of her kind heart and stated, 'I could not imagine her taking her life. She was intelligent and beautiful and no one thought such could happen.'
