    She mothered an out of wedlock child with famed violinist Charles Auguste de Beriot.
    After falling off her horse, she refused medical treatment so she could continue performing.

    Her operatic performances were dramatic, intense and passionate.
    She was forced to wed the old banker because he promised her father a lot of money in exchange for her hand in marriage.
    The banker soon went bankrupt, leaving her the sole source of financial support.
