Why he might be annoying:

    He is obese.
    He is hairy.
    He allows himself to be publicly humiliated by his youngest son, Bam.
    He allows Bam to beat him up.
    He lost to both of his sons in a push-up contest. Bam and Jess had to do ten push-ups every time he did three.
    He collects Elvis Presley memorabilia and even called Elvis his hero.
    He looked like a combination of Papa Smurf, the Blue Man Group and Mel Gibson in 'Braveheart' after he was painted blue by Bam.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He has been married to April for over 25 years.
    He did not get angry when Bam installed a fireman's pole in his room, ironed images of hamburgers into all of Phil's clothes, replaced Phil's toothpaste with ground beef and destroyed Phil's van.
    He is a loving father.
    Bam bet him that he couldn't go 24 hours without food, but he was able to.
    His youngest son, Bam, has his own TV series on MTV, 'Viva la Bam' and his oldest son, Jess, is the drummer for CKY.
    As big as he is, he isn't nearly as big as his brother, Don Vito.
    He is a fan of Jess' band, CKY.
    He mows his lawn every week.
