Boxer

The Resume

    (September 12, 1958- )
Born in New York, New York
    Retired professional boxer
Professional record 53- 8- 1 with 31 knockout wins and 4 knockout losses
Youngest world champion in boxing history
World champion at light-welterweight, welterweight, and light-middleweight
Elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1996
Nicknamed 'El Radar' and 'The Bible of Boxing'

Why he might be annoying:

He was beyond belief arrogant, among other things nicknaming himself 'The Bible of Boxing.'
He wasn't a very hard puncher, possessed little upper body strength, and didn't take a hard punch particularly well.
He sometimes went by Wilfredo instead of his real first name Wilfred.
He turned pro at age 14.
He was washed up as a fighter by the time he was twenty-five, with an opponent saying 'He's a young man but an old fighter.'
Like many retired fighters, he launched an unsuccessful comeback, going 2-2 against dreadful opposition.
He never gave rematches to the champions he won his titles from.
He certainly liked the high life and lived it fully during his prime.

Why he might not be annoying:

He became the youngest world champion in boxing history when he won the junior-welterweight title at age 17 in a fight that was attended by some of his high school classmates.
In his prime, he was possibly the finest pure boxer in fight history and was so skilled defensively that he could stand directly in front of world class opponents with his hands down and make them miss.
In addition to be the youngest world champion ever, he was the youngest world champion in three weight divisions in boxing history.
He never got a rematch with Sugar Ray Leonard or Tommy Hearns after losing his titles to them, rematches that he thoroughly deserved.
Late in his career after losing a fight in Argentina, the promoter stole his prize money and papers so it was a year before he was able to return to his home in Puerto Rico.
As of 2011, he was suffering from brain damage due to his career and was living in a nursing home on a 200 dollars a month pension from the Puerto Rican government having blown all of his winnings in the ring over the years.
    He ducked absolutely no one.
