    Songs include ‘Don’t Walk Away,’ ‘I’ve Got to Go Now’ and ‘Because You Are Beautiful’

Why she might be annoying:

    She ran away from home at fifteen.
    A&M Records dropped her after her second album failed to sell as well as her debut.
    She then signed with Geffen, who dropped her when sales of her third album were even lower than her second album’s.
    She ended up much bigger in Australia and New Zealand than her native USA.

Why she might not be annoying:

    Her parents would not let her and her siblings listen to rock music or go to the movies.
    She decided to become a singer/songwriter after seeing Pink Floyd in concert.
    On her first national tour, she opened for Bob Dylan.
    She stopped touring for a decade after developing Grave’s disease in 1997.
    She won an Emmy for writing ‘Because You Are Beautiful,’ the theme for the Lifetime movie ‘Until the Violence Stops.’ (2004)
