The Resume

Sacrament in the Catholic, Orthodox and some other churches during which a person confesses their sins to a priest and is granted forgiveness of their sins known as absolution
    Usually referred to as 'Confession'
Based in part on the words of Jesus found in Matthew 18:18 and James 5:16

Why Reconciliation might be annoying:

Many people don't see why they should confess their sins to another person instead of straight to <1000>God<1000>.
It is not practiced regularly by many Catholics and Orthodox.

Why Reconciliation might not be annoying:

It is very comforting for most people to confess their sins and to be told they are forgiven and that God loves them.
After confessing their sins, a person is told to do some type of penance, usually a prayer or some type of good deed.
A priest may not under any circumstances reveal what they heard in confession or even act on their knowledge.
Confessing in private is a big improvement from the practice of the early Church, which made you confess in front of the whole congregation!
