Why Sirius Satellite Radio might be annoying:

It is named after a plasma blob.
The company spends excessively on content.
They needlessly capitalize their name.
Their CEO explored the possibility of buying out XM Radio even while SIRIUS had a far lower share of the market.
They were sued by CBS Radio for allegedly giving Howard Stern incentive to breach his contract. They were forced to settle (2006).
The Howard Stern Radio Show has commercials, which forces them to specify in advertisement that it has '100% commercial-free music.'
They will give just about anybody a show.
They charge a premium for a better quality internet stream.

Why Sirius Satellite Radio might not be annoying:

It is uncensored.
It offers programming from disenfranchised groups.
Most of the programming is commercial free.
In one year, they closed the gap between competitor XM from 5.5 million to 2 million (2006).
It offers a larger selection of music than FM and AM radio combined.
They give an outlet to talented entertainers fired or harassed for FCC violations.
It brought back the radio sitcom (Sam Simon's Bitter Half, October 25, 2006).
Of those who subscribe, it is estimated that less than 2% get rid of it.
