    Representative from Massachusetts (1987-99)
He overturned a jeep through reckless driving, injuring his brother David and paralyzing David's girlfriend, Pam Kelley (1973).

In 'George' magazine, John Kennedy Jr. called him and Michael Kennedy 'poster boys for bad behavior.'
His son Matt was burned when he and his family were playing with illegal fireworks (1997).
As head of Citizens Energy, he was criticized for accepting heating oil donated by Hugo Chavez.
In Congress, he overhauled federal public housing regulations, expanded available credit for working Americans to buy homes, and introduced tax credits to create hundreds of thousands of new affordable housing units.
He said of John's criticism, 'I guess my first reaction was, 'Ask not what you can do for your cousin, but what you can do for his magazine.'
