    Best known for his appearances for 'I Am a Camera,' 'Fahrenheit 451,' 'Where Eagles Dare,' 'Zeppelin,' 'The Colditz Story,' and 'Victory'
    Played Joachim von Ribbentrop in the TV series 'Winds of War' and Reinhard Heydrich in 'Operation Daybreak'
    Died of cancer
    He was typecast as a Nazi villain (this annoyed him greatly).
    After he moved from Britain to Italy to escape it, he wound up in the same situation.
    When Germany entered World War II, Diffring moved to Canada.
    He became rich and famous for his excellent portrayal of evil Nazis.
    He was a versatile actor and worked in TV, theater, and the movies.
    His blond, blue-eyed appearance was perfect for his Nazi roles.
