    Premise: A successful writer who tries to fuck every hot woman he encounters
    Californication ripped off The Red Hot Chilli Peppers 1999 album of obviously the same name. The Peppers filed a lawsuit.
    There are some Apple product placements.
    The Australian Christian Lobby attacked the series, as the opening scene was a nun performing fellatio.
    New Zealand's Family First pressured advertisers by calling for a boycott.
    There is pot smoking and puking.
    Alessandra Stanley of the New York Times wrote 'it doesn't have enough wit or sense... to be very convincing.' She called it the 'male payback for Sex and the City.'
    New Yorker's Nancy Franklin labeled it as 'soft-porn,' saying the characters and story lacked depth.
    LA Weekly's Robert Abele panned it as a 'dishonest, unfunny, dispiritingly crude show.'

    The project is centered around David Duchovny, who perfectly portrays the guy who does not appreciate his great life.
