    (February 20, 1890-September 1, 1971)
    Owned Romanoff's Restaurant (1939-1962)
He claimed to be a member of the Russian royal family.
He always stuck to that story despite being confronted with overwhelming evidence that proved otherwise.
He claimed at various times that his birth name was either Prince Dimitri Romanoff Obolenski or Grand Duke Michael Romanoff.
Most likely his birth name was Harry Gerguson and he was born in either Cincinnati or Brooklyn.
He frequently used aliases such as William Rockefeller, William K. Vanderbilt, and Rockwell Kent.
He falsely claimed to have diplomas from Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Eton, Oxford, Cambridge, and Heidelberg.
He managed to convince Cary Grant, Daryl Zanuck and Robert Benchley to lend him $7,500 to open a restaurant.
His restaurant was one of the most successful in Hollywood, frequented by movie stars and earning $750,000 a year in profits at its height.
Daryl Zanuck kept him under contract to Twentieth Century Fox as an actor and consultant.
He was used as an example of a person who lived a fantasy existence without being a harm to society in the film 'Miracle on 34th Street.'
