The Resume

    (May 13, 1977- )
Born in New York City, New York
Birth name is Terrence LeVarr Thornton
Member of the rap duo Clipse
Brother of Clipse rapper No Malice
Recorded 'Runaway,' 'Sweet Serenade,' 'Mercy,' 'Coming Home,' 'Numbers on the Boards,' 'It Doesn't Matter,' 'If You Know You Know,' and 'Exodus 23:1'

Why he might be annoying:

He is better known for feuding with the likes of Lil' Wayne than for his own music.
He was accused by rapper Consequence of stealing his flow and lyrics for a solo mixtape after plans for a collab fell through.
He dissed Drake in a track, accusing the Toronto rapper of using a ghost-writer. Drake clapped back with a track of his own, shading him as a self-promoting hypocrite and a fake drug dealer.
The feud reached a crescendo after he dropped a bombshell in 'Story of Adidon' hinting that Drake had an illegitimate child.
The album cover featured an image of Drake in blackface and a Jim Crow T-shirt, leading many to question who his sources were.
He claimed to have received the information from Drake's longtime Noah '40' Shebib, rather than from within his own circle (Drake offered no response, citing requests from his label).

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a protege of Kanye West, who elevated him to president of his music label.
His parents threw him and his brother out of the house for selling drugs, prompting them to focus on a music career.
He was assaulted by concertgoers who threw liquids at him and stormed the stage during his Toronto concert, kicking off an intense brawl that resulted in the event's cancellation and one attendee being hospitalized (2018).
Clipse's debut single, 'Grindin' became a summer Top 40 hit and reached 30 on the Billboard Hot 100.
His debut solo album, 'My Name is My Name,' was met with near universal acclaim from critics, and ranked highly on many 'Best Albums of 2013' lists by major publications.
He has been active in the fight against mass incarceration and has advocated for prison reform.
