Presidential candidates were Ralph Nader (1996,2000) and David Cobb (2004)

Why they might be annoying:

They are often accused of costing Al Gore the presidency.
In 2004, a lot of efforts to get the Greens on the ballot were led by Republicans hoping they would draw votes away from Democrats.
Several disgruntled Greens claimed the nomination of Cobb was rigged, leading them to split off as 'Greens for Democracy and Independence.'
They claim to support decentralization while also supporting a hefty increase in the welfare state.
The highest office won by a Green was John Elder's election to the Maine House of Representatives (2002-06).

Why they might not be annoying:

They at least affected a national election, which is more than the Libertarians can say.
Richmond, California, became the first city with a population over 100,000 to elect a Green mayor (2006).
They provide an option for liberal voters fed up with the mainstream parties.
