    Songs include 'A Lovely Way to Spend an Evening,' 'Exactly Like You,' 'Don't Blame Me,' 'I Can't Believe That You're in Love With Me,' 'I Can't Give You Anything But Love (Baby),' 'I'm in the Mood for Love,' 'I Just Found Out About Love,' 'On the Sunny Side of the Street,' and 'Where Are You?'
    Inducted into The Songwriters Hall of Fame (1970)

Why he might be annoying:

    He launched Mamie Van Doren's movie career.
    One of his songs made for a parody title of an L.A. Law episode about a nudist colony ('I'm in the Nude for Love').
    Few - if any - of his songs have aged well. His best known song endures only as the tune used to calm the leopard in Bringing Up Baby.
    He became less known for any of his songs than his Svengali-like managing of Hollywood talent from the 1950s onward.
