Why he might be annoying:

He was bookish (or, more precisely, scroll-ish).
He was a mama's boy.
He dressed up like his hairy brother to trick his blind father into blessing him.
He made his brother trade his birthright for a bowl of soup.
He married not one, but two of his first cousins.
He had sex with his wives' maids.
He probably didn't exist.

Why he might not be annoying:

His wives gave him permission to have sex with their maids.
His uncle tricked him into marrying his ugly daughter instead of his pretty one (he married the other one anyway).
He supposedly won a wrestling match with an angel.
He eventually reconciled with his brother.
His daughter was raped.
His favorite son was sold into slavery by his jealous brothers.
He is an important figure in Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
His name is still popular for boys today.
