Why he might be annoying:

His given name was 'Wonga.'
He was a heavy drinker.
He said: 'I can't die until the government finds a safe place to bury my liver.'
He had several hit songs in the 1940's, but they're mostly forgotten now.
For some reason, he was cast as a bear in Disney animated films.
One critic described him as 'the proto-hipster daddy-o of them all' (dig that crazy slang, baby!).
