He claimed to be the creator and original 'Bozo the Clown' (he was neither).
To win a lifetime Clowning Achievement award from The Clowning Hall of Fame, he lied by claiming that he created Bozo the Clown.
Alan Livingston and Pinto Colvig created the character and Mr. Colvig portrayed him for several 'Bozo the Clown Children's' Records.
The Clowning Hall of Fame demoted Mr. Harmon's honor to 'Merchandiser of Bozo the Clown.'
He did a poor imitation of Stan Laurel's voice for a Laurel & Hardy TV cartoon series (1966).

Harmon successfully packaged 'Bozo the Clown' as an Internationally franchised series (1959-2001).
He provided the voice of Bozo the Clown for Jayarc Animation Studios' Bozo the Clown cartoons.
He bought the rights to 'The Bozo the Clown' character from Mr. Livingston for the purpose of creating and franchising the concept for a series of kids TV shows and for creating and marketing 'Bozo the Clown' memorabilia (1959).
