Why Sliders might be annoying:

The show was cancelled after its third season because of bad ratings, only to be brought back on a different channel.
In the course of two episodes, the character of Arturo had part of his brain sucked out, was shot in the heart while trying to save his friend, and was left on a planet that blew up.
The character of Wade was kidnapped by an alien race called the Kromaggs and sent to a breeding camp, then she was turned into a living computer.
The stories became much worse after the show's second season.
By the end of the final season, all of the original Sliders were either dead or played by someone else, except for the guy who played the lounge singer.
They added a sexy female character for ratings grabs.
The show ended on a cliffhanger.

Why Sliders might not be annoying:

Fans of the show staged a massive letter writing campaign after the show was cancelled at the end of it's third season, and succeeded on getting the show brought back.
The stories involved the characters visiting multiple versions of Earth.
It was one of the highest-rating shows on the Sci-Fi channel.
