Why he might be annoying:

He was considered too intense by his peers.
His pitching style was erratic during his first season with the Dodgers.
He and Sandy Koufax were fined after they snuck out of the team hotel to get pizza (1961).
His career was uneventful, outside of the 1959 season.
He played on three teams in the last two years, most notably a three game stint with the Angels to end his career.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was born with club feet, and underwent a successful surgery as an infant to correct it.
He was the first native of Los Angeles to play for the Dodgers, following the relocation from Brooklyn.
He put on a clutch performance in the 1959 World Series, guiding the Dodgers to their first title after the relocation.
He finished his career with the crosstown Angels, as a way to cap off his career back in the Los Angeles area.
He considered Sandy Koufax to be one of his biggest mentors during his playing career.
